When we bought Elektra in November 2016 she came with a “Bukh DV20” engine which had just had £1500 spent on reconditioning it, looked like a new engine! She also had a “Stripper” rope cutter, her hull had been epoxy coated (unknown date). “Eberspacher” cabin heater (which turned out to be broken due to being tested while for sale and then not being allowed to cool down properly before turning off the main battery switch, had fried the controller).
She had been re upholstered in 2012, had a 12/240v fridge, mast rewired in 2010, new standing rigging in 2005, new sprayhood in 2009, “Facnor” headsail furling gear in 2003, New main and genoa in 2003, 2x “Lewmar” 40T 2 speed self tailing winches, black and white “Autohelm” radar, hot and cold pressured water system, new “Gebo” fore hatch 2013, shore power, “Sterling” battery charger, tiller pilot, “Garmin” 750 chart plotter, “Standard Horizon” DFC/VHF GX1600 radio, CQR anchor and 30m of rusty chain.
In 2017, 40m of new 8mm chain plus 20m of 20mm nylon cable with a new 7.5kg “Bruce” anchor, new standing rigging, new tricolour and cable, new longer boarding ladder, new Sadler hull stripes, new D2 “Eberspacher” cabin heater, new main sheet, new main stack pack and lazy jacks.
In 2018, new CD/radio for cabin, new joinery (shelving, draw), LEDs in all cabin lights, new water pump for pressure water system, new stainless frame and 60W solar panel.
In 2019, a new whip antenna and hawk wind indicator plus new cable in mast.

In 2020, new davits, extra 220ah battery bank, the Bukh DV20 replaced with a Yanmar 3YM20 by Yanmar engineer, new sprayhood and cockpit encloser.

In 2021, new “Garmin” AIS transceiver, new “Exchomax” active XS-dual band radar target enhancer, (old radar removed at this time), Pro Epoxy coated bilge keels (5 coats), new topping lift, new “Flexiteek” panels fitted in cockpit.
In 2022, 2x new “Barton” genoa cars for 32mm T track, new “ProFurl” and forestay, new genoa halyard, new 40m of 8mm anchor chain (the last chain had started to go rusty),
In 2023, new be-spoke black water tank, new be-spoke water tank, new water filler cap, new higher pressure water pump, new be-spoke stainless solar frame and 2x new 80W solar panels, new stern boarding gate, new bow plate, new running rigging, 8x new stanchion deck inserts, new stern navigation light, new steaming light, new shower mixer tap and shower tray pump, new “Flexiteek” panels for companionway steps and cockpit trims, new top of mast sleeves, new “Voyager” gas cooker, new batteries and leads, new mainsail and sail cover, new bi-radial cut genoa. new car radio (replacing the old CD/radio), new water system pipework, new “Jabsco Aqua Filta” complete.
In 2024, new 10kg “Rocna” bow anchor and alteration to bow roller, new cabin radio. New Garmin wind-depth-log and GPSMap 923 chart plotter fitted by pro. The stanchion deck inserts which I had stuck in with sicoflex in 2023 were refitted by pro using epoxy. New and replacement barton clutches. Mid December Elektra had a full insurance survey (for extended cruising area cover).
In 2025, new guard wires plus added bracing for solar frame, fire insulation on engine compartment insulation. New anodes. And because of an electrical fire during the season, all new electrics and batteries.
